A Day of Antique Mall Hopping in Cobb County: Four Stores and What I Found
I woke up and decided I wanted vintage jewelry. Not a plan, not a project, just a feeling. So I mapped out four antique malls around Cobb County and gave myself one mission: find some nice heavy gold pieces. I did not entirely stick to the plan, but that is half the fun of a day like this.
Stop One: Marietta Antique Mall
1477 Roswell Rd, Suite 100, Marietta, GA 30062
This is the spot I usually go to for furniture and accessories, so hunting for jewelry here felt new. It is a big space with individually rented booths, which means the merchandise is always changing depending on who is renting that week. I found a booth with a beautiful marble top table for $250, another with 50 percent off everything, and eventually landed on a necklace that ended up coming home with me. I also went back later in the day for a vase I could not stop thinking about, more on that below.
Stop Two: Queen of Hearts Antiques and Interiors
2745 Sandy Plains Rd, Marietta, GA 30066
Over on Sandy Plains Road near Post Oak Tritt, this one is big, a little overwhelming in the best way, and worth the drive if you are in East Cobb. They actually have two other locations in Buford and Alpharetta too. I found a belt buckle marked made in India, two pairs of earrings, and a few small pieces that were priced so reasonably I did not think twice.
Stop Three: Big Shanty
2932 Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30066
Smaller store, and honestly this one did not have much in the way of jewelry the day I went. Still worth a walk through if you love browsing, but I left empty handed on the gold front.
Stop Four: Cobb Antique Mall
2800 Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30066
Save the best for last. This store on Piedmont Road ended up being my favorite of the day. I found a beaded purse from a sweet vendor who could not have been more than her seventies, a gold bracelet she swore has never turned, a pair of wood hoop earrings so light I forgot I had them on, and a David Yurman inspired earring set that was half off. I spent $85.86 here and every dollar felt worth it.
The Vase I Went Back For
Here is the part where I admit I am predictable. Back at the very first store, I had spotted a vase early in the day and could not stop thinking about it. So after all four stops, I circled back, negotiated a little, and brought it home for $145. Sometimes you just know.
Would I Do This Again?
Without question. What I love about antique malls is that everything is one of a kind. The piece I bought today, nobody else is going to have that same piece. If you love vintage jewelry, unique home pieces, or just a good treasure hunt, Cobb County has more antique malls within a few miles of each other than you would expect.
